According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 500,000 people died from opioid-related overdoses in the United States between 1999 and 2019, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness and prevention efforts. It is essential to understand what prescription opiates are, their potential risks, and how to use them safely to avoid the harmful consequences of their misuse.
